Senior Manager of Product Management, Website and Social Experiences

Heroku is looking for a Product Manager to own the content management tooling and infrastructure investment behind our websites, heroku.com, blog.heroku.com, devcenter.heroku.com, and manage our social media presence. You'll collaborate with a engineering team and establish guidelines and tools to track the impact of our websites and social media efforts. Our site is crucial for engaging users and hosting our sign-up pages, contact forms, and customer stories highlighting our product's key values. This role requires a solid understanding of developer experience with the ability to find creative ways to connect with both developers and IT buyers. Additionally, you'll make sure that content management for the website is provided through admin tools that do not require engineering support for changes.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage all our feedback channels (Heroku Public Roadmap, Community, etc) and observe customer meetings to drive new ideas. Be clear on definition of done and agile best practices for current work, while thinking about future experiences to come. Be the product lead for one or more scrum teams providing stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, while supporting the design process.
  • Put together an internal product roadmap presentation for a well-defined and well-understood product area. Effectively communicate your roadmap to product and engineering leaders and product requirements to your scrum team. Demo your product at internal reviews (e.g. sprint reviews) or to a customer.
  • Have strong domain knowledge of your area. Understand where your product/feature fits into the overall business and the rationale behind roadmap prioritizations. Build relationships with your development team.
  • Show your stakeholders that you understand their concerns, keep them informed of important changes, and give them a voice in the product direction. Maintain healthy relationships with your engineering and UX colleagues.
  • Collaborate with your team to establish and articulate a 6-month roadmap with a specific focus on your product and features. This includes consideration of customers, competition, and innovation.
  • Do basic interviewing for PM, UX, or Dev.
  • Internalize all core use cases and personas. Present to some customers on your own and begin to establish direct relationships.
  • Demonstrate Salesforce values every day at work and are able to clearly articulate the value that the Salesforce Ohana culture brings to our business.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines or equivalent experience in technical leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in designing engaging web experiences, including signup experiences, and understanding tooling requirements for content authors and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability and experience in building developer-focused data and eventing services and practices, using the latest tools and technologies. Enterprise-level data store and eventing experience is ideal.
  • Proven ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams to execute against a plan.
  • Developing leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and lead others.
  • Understanding of the enterprise PaaS products, customers, partners, and competitors.
  • Excellent organization and communications skills, with experience communicating across groups with varying degrees of technical background.
