Clear Channel Outdoor is a 118 year old, billion dollar company (NYSE:CCO) that sells out-of-home advertising (i.e. billboards) in 28 US markets. Using Heroku and partnering with Trineo, they built a new digital strategy from the ground up, turning a paper-based, old-school industry into a fully digital experience for their buyers, including offering real-time bidding for ad space on digital billboards in Times Square. They started five years ago by setting a solid architectural and data foundation, proceeding pragmatically, and overhauling their reliance on decades-old technology and processes. You can too.
